A large scrunchie made from genuine kimono silk.
The main colour of this piece is a pale, minty green-turquoisey colour (the pictures make the material look more blue, but in real life, it is more of a minty green-turquoisey colour).
Made from this beautiful kimono silk, the majority of the material is a matt-feeling silk, with a satiny-embossed pattern featuring leaves and flowers. As a result the material has a slight texture to it, and isn’t smooth and silky. There are also some slight pink leaves.
The width of the material is approx. 3inches. When laid flat, the scrunchie measures approx. 7inches.
This scrunchie contains 1/4inch elastic, around 7inches in length, so the piece can be worn in the hair or comfortably on the wrist. As the material is fairly wide, it is a statement piece.
Note: I used to live in Japan and collected quite a few second hand kimonos (as well as some new kimono material, and fabric offcuts). While some are in excellent condition, ones that had suffered too much damage in areas, have been taken apart and the in-tact bits have been repurposed into pieces such as this. Please be aware that due to the nature of the material and its origin, there may be some marks.
This is for the sale of one scrunchie. Nothing else that may appear in the images, is included in the sale.
There are more than one available in this material, so the one you receive may not be the one you see in some of the photos. Both are fairly similar though, but the pattern may vary slightly.
