We met back in 2017 when we banded together to take lead on the group of Etsy makers that were in Milton Keynes. With a joint passion for supporting small businesses while building our own, we spent the years running and organising artisan markets within Intu MK. Our ethos has and always will be about quality local goods, created by local artists and getting their talent seen.
Today we have over 200 local creators within our ever growing community. What we have created is not just to run events but to support each other every step of the way with every aspect of business. We all champion one another.

Our most recent venture has been our pop up store, it had always been a dream of ours and thanks to Intu MK, Milton Keynes council and a successful crowdfunding campaign this dream became a reality in 2020 and couldn’t have come at a better time for local indie businesses. We are also keen to do our bit to help save the high street so it really was a dream come true! This was a fantastic way to end the year on a high and a real success for all involved. With the first pop up The Indie Co name was born! We returned to Intu for our second pop up this spring. With many returning sellers from the previous store alongside many new ones who had seen what we were doing for small businesses. This second pop up was initially meant to run for just 6 weeks but due to its success and ever growing popularity we made the decisions stay until the end of 2021.

While our pop ups may come and go the end goal we are striving for is to be a permanent fixture in Milton Keynes bringing our community of indie businesses and their high quality locally made goods with us. When you buy from a small businesses you aren’t just buying an object, you are buying a moment in someone’s life, a piece  of heart and soul and our high streets need some heart and soul now more than ever.
